Zij doet dat door bezoekers te ontvangen in het Metaheerhuis, Stolpersteine te plaatsen, rondwandelingen te organiseren en  gastlessen te verzorgen op scholen en presentaties te geven in het land.

Een Metaheerhuis –Beet Tahara, Huis der Reiniging, is een gebouw waar je naar toe gebracht wordt als je als Jood komt te overlijden. Daar wordt je, onder het uitspreken van gebeden, ritueel gewassen, aangekleed en in de kist gelegd.

 

Het Metaheerhuis is vandaag niet meer als zodanig in gebruik maar is nu ingericht als gedenkplaats en vormt zij een belangrijke bijdrage aan het bewaren van de herinnering aan de  Goudse Joden die tijdens de oorlogsjaren om het leven zijn gebracht.

Een Stolperstein is een steen van 10 bij 10 cm met bovenop een messing plaatje waarop naam, geboortedatum,  sterfdatum en sterfplek van het slachtoffer van het nazi-regime is gegrift.

 

Soesja Citroen is initiatiefnemer, coördinator en mede-uitvoerder bij de aanpak, structuur, opzet, communicatie en plaatsing van deze stenen.

Deze Stichting wil mensen met een, in de ruimste zin, Joodse achtergrond die niet gelieerd hoeft te zijn aan een Joodse kerkgenootschap, ruimte bieden om elkaar te ontmoeten.

 

Zij heeft zich in 2020 aangesloten bij de Stichting Gouds Metaheerhuis zodat er nu één aanspreekpunt is voor alle Joods gerelateerde activiteiten in Gouda.
